Hortgro invites industry stakeholders to take part in shaping the future of the deciduous fruit industry through Industry Launchpad: The Next-Generation Leadership Programme.
This two-year programme is designed to develop leadership skills and broaden industry understanding across production, packing, technical, and marketing disciplines. We encourage you to nominate individuals under 40 who show commitment, initiative, and the potential to serve the industry in leadership roles.
Selected participants and their employers will contribute both time and financial resources, with Hortgro Pome and Hortgro Stone sharing support for the programme.
Applications or nominations, including a short CV and contact details, must be submitted by Friday, 28 November 2025 to learn@hortgro.co.za

Inga was born 31 years ago in the Eastern Cape in Inga was born 31 years ago in the Eastern Cape in the town, Elliot, that is now known as Khowa. There, he had a good upbringing and schooling, where he developed an immense love for the game of football. Not only did he adore the game, he was seriously good at it. However, Khowa is a rural town, and farming is a massive part of the environment.

Although South Africa’s cherry exports are relatively small (0,1% in 2024) compared to Chile’s (49% in 2024), the industry has grown by leaps and bounds.
